Rooted: Wildlife Wander
Come and discover Marsden’s wildlife. There’s always something new to see.
Rooted is a free, self guided Wildlife Wander for kids and their grown ups, taking you on an adventure through the woods, along the River Colne and beside the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
Pick up a free Wildlife Wander leaflet from Marsden Mechanics, bring a pen and head outside to see what you can spot along the way.
Listen for birds in the woods, look for plants along the canal, watch the river rushing over the rocks and remember to look up. You never know what might be flying overhead.
There are things to find, questions to answer and little activities to try as you explore. And because Marsden’s wildlife changes with the seasons, no two wanders will be quite the same.

Forest School drop ins
As part of Rooted, we’ll also be running four free Forest School drop in sessions. Come along, get outdoors and explore some of the wildlife and nature right on our doorstep.
All ages are welcome, but we think the session will be particularly suited to 4–11 year olds.

Wednesday 23 September, 10am to 12am (pre-school session)

Friday Club
Our free monthly Friday Club will be running alongside Rooted, with activities exploring some of the same themes of nature, wildlife and the world around us.

Friday Club runs from 3.30pm to 6.30pm at Marsden Mechanics and is free for children, families and their grown ups.
